Open to all teams: AAU, YBOA, YMCA, CYC, Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, Recreation Teams and more.

 

Play will be conducted for the Scholastic Female and Scholastic Male divisions on July 24 – 26, 2008 (Thursday – Saturday).  All other divisions (16 and Under/10^th grade Female, 14 and Under/8^th grade Female divisions, 12 and Under/6th grade Female, 16 and Under/10th grade Male, 14 and Under/8th grade Male, 12 and Under/6th grade Male) will be played on July 25 – 27, 2008 (Friday–Sunday) Competition will take place in the York Area.   

 

ELIGIBILITY:  All ages as of July 28, 2008.  Basketball players may only compete in one division in one age group.  All athletes that graduate in the 2007-08 school year are NOT eligible to participate in the Scholastic Division.

 

Scholastic Division:  Grades as of Fall 2008 school year.  Maximum age limit is 18.    Max teams in Female / Male divisions are 12.

 

16 and Under/10th grade - Athletes that meet the age requirements and participated in the 10^th grade during the 2007-2008 school year are eligible for this division.  Max teams 9.

 

14 and Under/8th grade - Athletes that meet the age requirements and participated in the 8^th grade during the 2007-2008 school year are eligible for this division.  Max teams 9.

 

12 and Under/6th grade - Athletes that meet the age requirements and participated in the 6^th grade during the 2007-2008 school year are eligible for this division.  Max teams 9.

 

GAME GUARANTEE:  Each team will receive a 3 game minimum guarantee. Please note; your team’s 3rd game may be in pool play or the first round of bracket play!

 

UNIFORMS:

Teams must provide their own uniforms.  Players' jerseys must have numbers on both the front and back. Numbers can be 00-99. Teams must have a Light Colored Home Uniform and a Dark Colored Away Uniform.  School provided uniforms are not permitted under High School Federation Rules.

 

Playing Times by Age Divisions

12:U/6th grade: 7 minute quarters – 3 minute overtime

14:U/8th grade: 7 minute quarters – 3 minute overtime

16:U/10th grade: 8 minute quarters – 4 minute overtime

Scholastic:  8 minute quarters – 4 minute overtime

 

All events shall have a mandatory minimum warm-up and half time of eight (8) minutes.

 

ENTRY PROCEDURE: TEAM ENTRY ONLY

 

1. Complete the Team Entry Form including (1) team name, (2) division of play, (3) Team Contact’s name, address, telephone number, and email address.
2. Make check or money order for $400 to the “Keystone State Games” and submit it with the Team Entry Form by the entry deadline of June 14, 2008.
3. Complete the Team Roster Form when the team make-up is set.  A max of 10 players for each team.  Team Roster Form deadline is June 21, 2008. 
4. Each player listed on the roster must complete an Individual Registration Form and sign the waiver.  If the athlete is under 18 years of age a parent, guardian, or responsible adult must also sign the form.  NOTE:  To expedite the team’s complete registration the Team Roster Form, Team Entry Form, and Individual Registration Forms may be sent together.
5. Individual Registration Forms for each individual on the roster may be turned in at the Registration Area. All completed forms allow the team to compete.  If the completed Team Roster Form and Individual registration Forms for each player on the roster are not turned in by the final deadline the team may be eliminated without recourse for a refund of his or her entry fee. 
6. All athletes and coaches must register BEFORE COMPETING.  Registration will be held at York Expo Center, 334 Carlisle Ave. York, PA 17404.

 

ENTRY DEADLINE:

Entry deadline is June 14, 2008.  Be aware!  Having your entry fee turned into us before the entry deadline does not guarantee your team a spot in this tournament.  Teams are entered on a first come, first paid basis. 

 

DESCRIPTION:

Teams will be randomly placed into pools of three, which will play round-robin games to earn points to a seed in a single-elimination tournament format.  Teams will be awarded Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals.  National Federation rules will govern games.

At registration each athlete and coach will receive:  Souvenir T-Shirt, an Identification Card - required for competition and also provides free access to all other events including the Athlete’s Festival, , and a Participant Packet providing pertinent information to this year’s Games and coupons from various sponsors of the event.
