EVENT CODES: USTA SANCTIONED

(USTA Membership Required for Juniors and Adults)  


TE01 Singles | TE02 Doubles (All except Age 10) | TE03 Mixed Doubles (18, Open, 35, 45 Divisions only)  


Players may choose one of the following options:

1. one singles, one doubles, and mixed doubles; or

2. one doubles and one mixed doubles. 

 

Juniors wishing to play Adult events, in addition to their Junior events, will be charged an additional fee to be collected by the Sport Leader.  Please contact the Sport Leader for this additional information. 


DESCRIPTION: 

 

Adult Competition in Open, 35, and 45 divisions will be held Monday, July 19 - Friday, July 23, starting at 5:00 PM., and during the day, starting at 9:00 AM. on Saturday and Sunday, if needed.  Saturday and Sunday are primarily rain/back-up dates. 

 

Junior Competition will be held Tuesday, July 20, - Friday, July 23, starting at 9:00 AM.  Most finals will be solo chaired (if officials are available) in the Junior and Adult Competitions. Singles sticks will be used for all singles draws. Competition is sanctioned by the USTA/MS as a DR-L7 (District Ranking with Sectional Ranking points) Tournament for Juniors.  Juniors from EPD, PATD, AMD, NJD, and DD will have competition from this CPD event count towards district ranking in their home district. 

 

USTA rules will govern all competition.  Roving umpires will be used for all competition. All starting times will be available online by Sunday evening, July 18, 2010. If you do not have an email address or access to the internet, you will be called with your starting times.

However, you may email him at KingTut039@aol.com  Draw sheets will be available when you arrive at your play site or you may print them online.  Competition main headquarters are at Central York High School, 651 Mundis Mill Rd., York 17402 and will utilize this alternate site Springettsbury Township Park, 1501 Mt. Zion Road, York, 17402.  Please check your site designation before heading to your match.

ELIGIBILITY: For the ranking year January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010, age eligibility requirements are as follows: All junior players may play in an age division until their birthday month (the month in which they age up). Open Division, any age accepted, but mainly for adult play. In the Doubles and Mixed Doubles events, junior partners in different age divisions will compete in the age division of the older partner or open division, while adult partners will compete in the age division of the younger partner or open division.

 

Doubles partners do not have to be from the same Keystone State Games (KSG) region or from the same USTA/MS districts. Continuing this year, Delaware (DD) and New Jersey (NJD) residents may play in the tournament for the same fee as Pennsylvania residents since Delaware and New Jersey are part of  the Middle States Section of the USTA. NJ, DE, MD, WV, OH, & D.C. athletes are welcome to compete in 2010 Keystone Summer Games with no additional fees. 

 

ENTRY PROCEDURE: NO WALK-ONS are accepted. Send the entry form and $40 entry fee to Keystone State Games, Inc., P.O. Box 1166, Wilkes- Barre, PA 18703-1166. You may also enter online at the KSG website.  www.keystonegames.com  GENERIC USTA APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. YOU MUST SUBMIT A KSG ENTRY WITH YOUR ENTRY FEE.

 

It is important that you include your email address, with your entry, for contact about possible questions related to your entry. The one entry fee covers the cost of one Junior Singles, one Junior Doubles, and Junior Mixed Doubles per entrant. It is to your advantage to play in both the Singles and Doubles. If you are interested in playing Doubles and you do not have a partner, indicate this on your application and the Sport Leader will pair you with a similar partner. 

 

In the Doubles and Mixed Doubles events, each partner must complete an entry form and pay the entry fee. On the entry form also include high school or college record and position on your high school or college team. Open, 35, and 45 competitors should include information from their local and state tournament competition. Certain events may be canceled due to insufficient registration.

 

For Junior Players who wish to also play Adult events, please contact the Sport Leader for direction.  There will be no Adult play on Friday evening, July 23, 2010, if it can be avoided.  


ENTRY DEADLINE: Friday, July 16, 2010, postmarked by Thursday, July 15. However, entries mailed after Wednesday, July 7, 2010, MUST be mailed directly to the Tennis Sport Leader Ralph Tutlane, Jr., at 948 Lancaster Avenue, Reading, PA 19607. Entries received after July 11, 2010, will not receive pre-event publicity.  Online entry will be available until Friday, July 16, 2010
